I study the industrial histories of the South Bay of Los Angeles, tracing the terraforming of this region from the late 18th century to today. I draw from a range of interdisciplinary methods in history and geography, critical ethnic studies, queer and feminist of color methods, and queer Latinx studies to trace the relationship among these industries and U.S. imperialism and war-making in local and global contexts.
